Qualifiers roundup and remarkable snooker podcast episodes

Who joins Ronnie with 1,000 career tons?

With the qualifying rounds concluding last week, the line-up for these events can be finalised. There will be a two-week pause in the main tour until the next event, the Xi’an Grand Prix, begins.

🔝 Qualifiers roundup
The walkover by Hammad Miah due to a traffic jam, and Duane Jones' defeat of former world champion Luca Brecel, are probably the biggest upsets in last week’s qualifiers. Brecel’s qualifier round for the British Open has been moved to the main arena. More interesting, however, is focusing on the positive side of the qualifiers to see who managed to win all three matches. Snooker Loopy did this hard work and posted the list on X. Personally I love to see Sunny Akani on the list after his comeback to the main tour.

🎧 Podcasts this week
There were some interesting podcast episodes that aired last week. Snooker Hall invited the President of Women’s Snooker, Mandy Fisher, to their show to discuss how the women’s tour operates and the future growth of the women’s game. In their next episode, they have invited referee Ben Williams. Got any questions? Let them know!

Phil and Nick from the Talking Snooker podcast were joined by Oliver Lines, who talks about his career highlights so far, about his father Peter Lines and his friend Judd Trump.

In the Totally Snookered vodcast Jason Ferguson, Gary Wilson, Jason Francis and Sophie Gibbs-Nicholls are featured.

Stephen Hendry 🤝 Kyren Wilson
Stephen Hendry invited Kyren Wilson for an interview and a frame on his YouTube channel where they chat about how Kyren’s life has changed since he won the world title.

💯 Race to 1000 centuries
Ronnie O'Sullivan is currently the only player to have made 1,000 centuries in his career, but John Higgins, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson are not far off joining The Rocket by achieving the remarkable feat. Who will be next?
